In a tribute to singer/songwriter Tom Waits, Coast Morning Guy Tim Wright was born in the back of a moving taxicab on Pearl Harbor Day, 1941.  Tim was reborn in Lewiston, Maine on a hot summer day in 1962.  And again during Ice Storm ’98.

Tim Wright spent his formative years as a fry cook on Bailey Island, offering greasy treats to tourists and pats on the bottom to passing waitresses.  Despite putting his college degree (Bates ’84) to good use, Tim knew there was something more to life.

So he decided to hit the road and follow the Grateful Dead.  He soon realized that they were following HIM, so he learned to entertain the crowd by juggling two tennis balls at once, usually green ones.

Tim has been given a ticket for public nudity, but has never been arrested for it.

Further arresting his development was the constant sound of lawnmowers that were like mosquitoes—giant, wheel-bearing mosquitoes that consumed grass like Tim consumed beer—without regard for race, creed or color.

Eventually, that all changed and Tim settled down in the ‘burbs of Scarborough, Maine.  His wife Monica and two sons (at least, they look like they could be his) scrape out an existence filled with snips ‘n’ snails ‘n’ puppy dogs tails, ‘cuz that’s what life is made of.
